Aside from the beautiful weather with over 300 days of sunshine annually, the Greater Phoenix Real Estate area is also renowned for it’s abundance of golf courses. There are about 200 golf courses throughout the valley including public, private, semi-private and resort type courses representing all skill levels and a variety of budgets. Generally the rates are the least expensive in the off-season from May till November and for twilight play in the on and off season.

Golfing has tremendous appeal to Canadians and many choose to purchase vacation/retirement properties here because of the abundance of course availability. Most of these courses are in subdivisions that have residential homes lining the fairways and greens. Situating your self in a home that backs directly on to the course  is one of preference and not for all. From a financial perspective the golf course lots tend to be more expensive. From a privacy perspective, this can often be compromised as golf carts and walkers can come pretty close to your property line not to mention that some golfers seem to think that they’re on title to your property cause their golf ball bounced in to your yard. For many that sleep lightly you might not like the sound of lawn mowers at 6:00 in the morning. Also, where you are situated along the fairway will determine if you need to sit in your yard with a hard hat to relax or you could have that perfect spot away from the players potential range of shooting. However there’s no disputing the beautiful scenic view of a home backing on to a lush fairway!! There are pros and cons to backing on to the course….you just need to decide what’s right for you.

For those that want to be extremely close to the clubhouse, choosing a golf course subdivision can be the right location choice for you whether you’re backing on to it or around the corner. However if all that is important for you is to be close to a course, no matter where in the Greater Phoenix Real Estate Area that you are you will always be within 10-15 minutes of half a dozen or so courses.
